Important General Election Dates

• December 16, 2024–Deadline to post notice of candidate filing deadline
• January 15, 2025–First Day to File for Place on General Election Ballot
• February 14, 2025–Last Day to File for Place on General Election Ballot

• April 3, 2025 -Last Day to Register to VoteThursday

Qualifications for Office

To be eligible to serve on board, all of the following requirements must be met:

1.  MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
   
2.  MUST BE A RESIDENT OF TEXAS
3.  MUST RESIDE IN LAVACA COUNTY
4.  MUST BE A QUALIFIED VOTER AS OF FEBRUARY 17, 2024
5.  MUST OWN LAND IN THE FLOOD DISTRICT SUBJECT TO TAXATION   AT THE TIME THE DIRECTOR QUALIFIES FOR OFFICE

The above requirements must be maintained by each board member throughout their term.
